The members of Geese credit their musical skills to their experiences in a School of Rock program, which every member attended. Drummer Max Bassin, lead singer Cameron Winter, and guitarist Emily Green attended Park Slope Rock School (PSRS) while bassist Dominic DiGesu and former guitarist Foster Hudson went to School of Rock New York. In 'The New York Times,' Hudson recalls discovering the rock band Television at age 12 when his program assigned him to play their signature track, “Marquee Moon”—the same program DiGesu also attended. Bassin, Winter, and Green were regulars on Brooklyn stages and participated in several Summer Songwriting Sessions at Bunker Studios through PSRS. According to the school’s website, Bassin brought “insane energy” behind the kit, even at eight years old; Winter earned a reputation as a “songwriter extraordinaire”; and Green, obsessed with Radiohead, seemed to have a new guitar pedal each week, which inspired her to write unique and experimental guitar riffs. PSRS still recalls the trio's song “Cherry Skies” as one of their favorite PSRS original songs of all time.
