This is the reason I built solgsn in 2020 to enable gasless tx on @solana. Even if fees are tiny, getting the gas token itself is the barrier. For normal users it’s like doing multiple steps before even using the app. That single hurdle kills onchain adoption before it starts.

even a super small transaction fee is a huge mental barrier for the average person
they are used to using apps without paying every time they click a button and anything else will always feel unnecessary
the cost should be fully abstracted away so the focus is on what they are doing, not how much gas it costs
