what's going on with open testnets these days? projects are pumping out millions of wallets daily and billions of transactions, proudly claiming "1 billion users on our testnet!"
these vanity metrics are often inflated. one person could be spinning up a million wallets just to farm rewards, with no genuine engagement or value added.
@fluentxyz launched a feedback-driven testnet that's explicitly stated as NOT incentivized. as @blendino_ put it, the goal is simple, to channel all energy toward app feedback, featuring a new app every two weeks for users to test and improve.
instead of chasing points or airdrops, the focus is on real interactions with the ecosystem. working with apps and providing honest input could lead to future rewards, but only after proving the tech's worth.
Fluent tech's acting as a pilot for blending execution environments (EVM, SVM, Wasm), allowing devs to build apps in any programming language without wallet-switching. onboarding the next thousands of web3 apps in the future.
soon, participation will shift. users will engage because they actually like the app, not just for rewards. it's about "helping apps get better". no farmers, no fake hype, just raw gameplay and genuine insights.
that's how we shift to build better apps for web3 and the next billion users. imo, Fluent might just play a big role in this.

focus on feedback >>>
i think what apps ultimately need is a testnet which acts as both a launchpad but also collect as much user feedback as possible
farming millions of meaningless transactions or active addresses tells you nothing about real adoption
time for testnets to be valuable for apps
